Hello! My name is Jaggiebun (or Jaggie or Bun, for short). I am a 20-something woman and software engineer living in New York City. Despite the huge amount of restaurant/take out/etc options in this city, I enjoy cooking and try to do it as much as I can (when I’m not being lazy). I made this blog as a way to track all of the recipes I’ve tried, as well as notes about what worked well, what didn’t, what I changed, etc. I also live with my fiance (we’ll call him Pork), so most of the meals I make are adjusted for two people.
I get my recipes from a variety of places. Many recipes are from my mother, who was born in Poland, and she adds a bit of a Polish flair to her cooking. Others are ones that I’ve found on various places on the internet or cookbooks I own. I love recipes that are simple, yet still packed with a lot of flavor, and recipes that are quick, since I don’t have a lot of time in the evening. Since I live in a small apartment, I like recipes that don’t involve too many fancy gadget because I don’t have any space for them. I also love experimenting with adorably decorated desserts!
Some of my favorite foods include:
- Two of my mother’s soups, her chicken soup and her Polish pickle soup
- Chinese soup dumplings (xiao long bao)
- Korean bibimbap with beef and a fried egg
- A good bacon cheeseburger
- Chinese bubble tea (passion fruit green tea is my favorite)
- Ice cream! (Who doesn’t?)
I hope you enjoy some of these meals as much as I do. 🙂
